Start small.
A nearby playground, a set time, and friends they know. Many families start with a short loop and widen it as confidence grows.
Set the boundaries together.
Name the edges: this street, that corner, back by five. Saving the park and home as Places gives you arrivals and departures without constant checking.
A position isn’t supervision.
Seeing a location on a map is not the same as an adult being there. It helps you stay a little closer while they practise being independent.
Talk about what-ifs.
What to do if a friend leaves, if they feel unsure, or if the device runs low on battery. A plan matters more than any app.
